Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

This policy covers the consumer health data FitJot collects through Fuel (Beta), its food log. It is written for the Washington My Health My Data Act and Nevada SB 370, and it applies to every Fuel user. Our Privacy Policy covers the rest of FitJot.

Who We Are

FitJot, a service of Ecoweb Softech Services Private Limited, India. Contact: support@fitjot.tech.

02 —

What We Collect, and Why

  • The foods you log, with amounts, calories and nutrients: to keep your food diary and daily totals.
  • Your Fuel goal (goal, pace, activity level, calorie and protein targets): to set your targets.
  • Your height, weight, age and sex: to calculate your targets.
  • The food photos and descriptions you submit: only to identify the foods. Photos are deleted within 15 minutes.
03 —

Where It Comes From

From you, in the app; from Apple Health or Health Connect, for weight, if you connected them; and from our AI analysis of your photos and descriptions.

04 —

Who We Share It With

We do not sell consumer health data. We share it only with the processors that run Fuel for us, under contract and only on our instructions:

  • Hostinger, which hosts our server in Mumbai, India: it stores all of the data above.
  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock), in Australia: it analyses your photos and descriptions with Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, and does not store them, except an image its abuse filter flags as possible child sexual abuse material, which AWS may keep to review and report. Anthropic does not receive them.

We have no affiliates that receive this data. Food names, amounts, photos and descriptions are never sent to analytics or advertising; analytics sees only counts, such as how many foods were logged and by which method.

When you scan a barcode, the app looks the product up at Open Food Facts directly from your phone, sending only the barcode number and an app identifier. If you speak a meal on the Describe screen, your phone's speech recognition (Apple's on iPhone, your phone's voice input on Android) turns it into text, which can happen on Apple's or Google's servers; FitJot receives only the text.

05 —

Consent

We collect this data only after you agree on the Fuel consent screen. AI analysis has its own, separate consent. We will ask again before any new use, or before sharing it with anyone not listed here.

06 —

Your Rights

  • Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and get a copy of it, with the list of everyone we share it with.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time in Fuel settings. Withdrawing the food-log consent deletes your food logs and Fuel goal.
  • Delete your data: delete entries in the app, withdraw consent, delete your account, or email us. Deletion includes our processors' copies. We keep no backups of this data, and any one-off copy is deleted within 30 days.

To make a request, email support@fitjot.tech and tell us the email address or phone number you sign in to FitJot with. We confirm the request through that email address or phone number, or in the app, then answer within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why, and take at most 45 more days.

07 —

Appeals

If we refuse a request, reply to our answer with "Appeal". We decide within 45 days and explain our decision. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General (atg.wa.gov) or the Nevada Attorney General (ag.nv.gov).

Age and Changes

Fuel is only for people aged 18 and over.

We update the date above when this policy changes, and tell you in the app before any material change.
